LIttle Buffalo State Park - April Programs

Shoaff's Mill will open May 4th & will run Saturdays & Sundays from 1-3pm
Sun. April 7th @ 1:00pm - Hike at Ibberson Conservation Area (Halifax) - Join us at the pavilion at Ibberson for a Sunday hike to look for wildlife and signs of spring! This will be a moderate hike between 1-2 miles in length, so bring comfortable walking shoes and water if needed. Cameras and binoculars are welcome!
Sat. April 13th @ 9:00am - Spring Volunteer Day at Little Buffalo - come out to the East area pavilion near the stage and help us prepare for the summer season! We will be doing some trail work, gardening, and preparing the Mill for tours. Please contact the park office for details if you would like to join. Rain date - April 20th at 10am.
Sun. April 14th @ 9-11am - Women's Fishing! Ladies, come on out and learn the basics of fishing! We will provide all of the fishing equipment you need, but you must have a fishing license if over 16 years of age. We will meet at the main boat launch in the East (Mill) area of the park and you may come at any point during the program to try your luck!
Sun. April 14th @ 1:30pm - Hike at Boyd Big Tree Preserve (Dauphin) - Come on over to Boyd to join us on a Sunday afternoon hike to look for signs of spring. This will be a moderate hike between 1-2 miles in length, so please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water if needed. Cameras and binoculars are welcome!
Wed. April 17th @ 10:00am - Bat Appreciation Day - Bring the little ones to learn about bats! We will be doing some bat themed activities and making some bats of our own! Please call the park office at 717-567-9255 or email email@example.com to register. All ages are welcome, but this program will be geared towards elementary aged children.
Sat. April 20th Bluebird Trail Walk @ 9:00am - Meet us at the park office for an introduction to bluebird boxes and bird monitoring programs. We will be joined by some of our bluebird trail volunteers to learn about different types of boxes, how to set up and maintain boxes, and the importance of boxes to our cavity nesting birds. This is also an excellent opportunity for inspiring volunteers to see the opportunities we provide and to meet other volunteers.
Sat. April 27th 10am-4pm- Join us at Wildwood Park in Harrisburg for Wetlands Festival! There will be wildlife exhibits, activities, and entertainment. Check out the Wildwood website for more info: https://www.wildwoodlake.org/events/
